Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHGE)


Alabama students must pass the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) in order to graduate. Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) was designed based on Alabama’s 4X4 curriculum, four years of each required course study in four subjects. Alabama requires 24 credits and passing of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) to graduate. The exam is put in place to ensure the students grasp on the high school core coursework. The Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) was written at an eleventh grade level, is comprehensive and multiple choice. The Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) emphasizes problem solving and logic based on 5 sections, reading, language, math, science and social studies. To pass the reading section of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) one must score a 563 or higher, for the language section on the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) a 560 or higher, for the math section of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) , at least a 477 , science section of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) a 491, and for social studies section of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AGHE) a 509 or higher.
