Maryland High School Assessment (MHSA)

The Maryland High School Assessment (MHSA) is a required assessment to graduate as the class of 2009. The Maryland High School Assessment (MHSA) is used to measure student and school progress towards Maryland High School Core Learning Goals. The Maryland High School Assessment (MHSA) consists of four separate tests: English, Algebra/ Data Analysis, Biology, and Government. To pass the Maryland High School Assessment (MHSA) a student must score at least the minimum in the following subjects: English (396), Algebra/Data Analysis (412), Biology (400) and Government (394). The other method of scoring is combining all sections, with a score of 1602 needed: this allows students to offset lower performance on one test with a higher performance on another.
