The Nebraska School Based Teacher Led Assessment and Reporting (STARS)

The content that is assessed in the Nebraska School Based Teacher Led Assessment and Reporting (STARS) is as follows, Reading and Mathematics Grades 3-8 & 11, Statewide Writing Assessment Grades 4, 8, & 11, Social Studies –Local Reporting grades 5, 8, & 11. The assessments involved with the Nebraska School Based Teacher Led Assessment and Reporting (STARS) include norm-reference assessments, criterion-referenced assessments, or locally developed classroom assessments. The writing assessments involved with the Nebraska School Based Teacher Led Assessment and Reporting (STARS) are Narrative Writing for grade 4, Descriptive Writing for grade 8, and Persuasive Writing for grade 11. Statewide data of the writing, reading and mathematics portions of the Nebraska School Based Teacher Led Assessment and Reporting (STARS) is collected by local school districts to analyze for school improvement.
